In March 2007, Walid Fehme, owner and lead hair designer of Waleed's, decided he would participate in the Chicago Midwest Beauty Show - more specifically The STARS Makeover Competition. The STARS Makeover Competition is a makeover contest in which each contestant chooses a model - then takes a before and after shot of the makeover. Walid chose long-time client Summer Weller-Prohaska to be his model. Soon after returning to Evansville, Walid recieved a notice that he had won the competition beating out 4 other competitors. Since then, Walid has been covered in two nationally acclaimed publications - Sophisticates's Hairstyle Guide and Modern Salon.
